Why do you want to achieve the goal that you are currently reaching for?
Do you want to lose 5kg?
Why?
If you don’t know why, then the goal does not align with your values.
What you end up with are ‘should’ goals.
You think you should be thinner, you think you should weigh less.
So this becomes your goal, but without a deeper ‘why?’.
These ‘should’ goals have no real gravity.
There is no satisfaction reaching a goal that does not have a value.
Begin with your identity and your values.
Have a think, today:
Write it out as a flow sheet;
Have 3 columns:
- Who are you?
- What is important to you?
- What would you feel good about accomplishing?
You can use this idea for any goals in your life, not just for fitness;
Why do you want that job?
That house?
That car?
To have kids?
That coffee machine?
If you can be super clear about these values, you can start to understand your drivers.
Understand what you are really looking for.
A lot of us get caught up in what everyone else is doing.
Trying to be like everyone else;
Trying to look like everyone else;
Trying to impress everyone else
Without actually thinking about what we truly want, deep inside.
